Introduction to OT&C
Organs, Tissues & Cells is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal focused on the donation of biological materials and the coordination of handling procedures prior to implantation. Particular emphasis is given to ethical and legal aspects of transplantation, practical issues of procurement, public education strategies, and emerging issues in stem cell research. The journal aims to be an international forum for communication among transplant coordinators, surgeons, epidemiologists, bioethicists and other professionals concerned with best practices in transplantation. It welcomes original research papers, statistical compilations, country reports, guidelines and reviews from authors with diverse geopolitical experiences and cultural viewpoints. Organs, Tissues & Cells is the official English-language quarterly of the European Transplant Coordinators Organization (ETCO). The journal is published in co-operation with seven national bodies, namely Agence de la Biomédecine (FR), Deutsche Stiftung Organtransplantation (DE), National Blood Transfusion Service (HU), Organización Nacional de Trasplantes (ES), Swiss National Foundation for Organ Donation and Transplantation (CH), Centro Nazionale Trapianti (IT) and Centrum Organizacyjno-Koordynacyjne do Spraw Transplantacji (PL).
