Grants

All ETCO members can apply for grants to attend international, recognized, training courses in transplant coordination as well as ETCO congresses and annual meetings.
Grants may cover some or all of the fees of the course and travel and accommodation expenses.
Members are eligible if they are up-to-date with their fees, speak English, and have not already received a grant from ETCO.Applicants should read the terms and conditions, and fill in the application form, and send the accreditation as transplant coordinator, signed and stamped by their employer, together with a short cv to:

Awards

ETCO encourages good research and presentation by awarding the best oral presentation and the best poster at each congress or annual meeting.
Best Oral Abstract:
Selected from the abstracts presented orally at the ETCO congress/meeting. Scores are based on the peer-review grades together with the presentation grades given to each abstract. The winner is awarded a certificate and 750 euros presented at the closing session of the congress/meeting.
Best Poster Abstract:
Selected from the posters presented at the ETCO congress. Scores are based on the peer-review grades together with the presentation grades given to each abstract. The winner is awarded a certificate and 500 euros presented at the closing session of the congress/meeting.
Technical Award offered by Transplant Medical Developmen: the best abstract and presentation that covers technical aspects of organ donation and subsequent transplantation by research and/or development of new or improved mecial products used in this field. The winner will be given a certificate and 1000 euros awarded by Transplant Medical Development and presented at the closing ceremony.
Scoring:
Before the congress/meeting, all abstracts are reviewed, blind, by at least 3 members of the scientific committee and the mean score is recorded. Abstracts with the higher scores are invited to be oral presentations.
During the congress/meeting, the chairs of each session review the presentations and gave a further score. The sum of the pre congress review and the session review divided by 2 gives the final scores from which the best oral presentation and best poster are selected. Authors with possible conflict of interest, such as scientific committee members, are excluded from the selection.
ETCO Organs, Tissues and Cells Award:
Granted by Organs, Tissues and Cells and ETCO, this award is given to the best article published in the journal over the two years between congresses. The winner is awarded a certificate and 1000 euros presented at the closing session of the congress.
